Herbs in my garden

Herbs in my Garden
Herbs in my Garden

I have been growing a few different herbs in our garden over the last year or two... some have fared better than others, and it is a constant learning curve to get to know what they like and to give them the right amount of light, attention, shade, love etc.. Some have been there a while, of their own accord, some we have planted from seed or starts.
The intention is to get to know them better as well as to begin a medicinal herb garden to make medicines for my family, friends and beyond.
Here are some photos of the herbs we have growing in our garden so far:
ROSEMARY.. One of my most beloved herbs.. an ally..always there for me on journeys and dreams of all kinds over many years.. always grows outside my front door no matter where I've lived! Only a small plant in our garden just now, but with hopes for bigger things!

SAGE..   Planted from seed to pot to earth and now in its second year and flowering purple!

 THE CULINARY HERB SPIRAL:

Parsley, Coriander, Chives, Garlic, Stevia, Oregano,
as well as Sage, Rosemary, Mint and Thyme.

LEMON BALM

This grows everywhere in our garden and would happily take up the whole yard,
but we love it, and it is very good for children and can be made lots of different ways.. as tea, tincture, in lemonade, wine, added to honey, ice-pops, you name it!

MOTHERWORT

Brought back with me from the Women's Herbal Symposium, these next two plants are special to me  not in that they have grown vast and tall, but in that they have survived several transplants and overwintering and seem to be doing very well in their new home in the medicinal herb spiral.

CRAMP BARK

MUGWORT

There are literally only about three stalks of this wonderful plant in our garden.. one taken from a community herb plot i tended for a short time, the other two in another part of the yard entirely.. came by themselves.
Also a favourite for under the pillow!
